Basil Seeds
Basil seeds come from a type of basil called sweet basil (Ocimum bascilicum), which is native to Africa and Asia's tropical areas. Sweet basil seeds, sabja seeds, and tukmaria seeds are some of the names for these seeds. They're oval in shape, black in colour, and expand up into a gelatinous mass when soaked in water.
Basil is a flavouring herb used in a variety of cuisines. Basil is a fantastic source of vitamins as well as having a distinct flavour. Basil plant seeds can also be eaten.
Basil seeds are extensively used in desserts and drinks in India and Southeast Asia, and they are growing more popular in other parts of the world as well. As a result, the seeds are commonly known as sweet basil seeds.
